Johnstown - Playschool is back open

Community playschool - The Johnstown Community Playschool which has been closed for several weeks re opened on Monday April 8th. It has been decorated and re organised during the closure. This playgroup Centre can cater for children from 2 years 8 months to 5 years. It is also hoped to open an after school service and offer early years from 2 years 6months from Sept’13 as well as sum mer camps from July’13. The service can offer substantial discounts under the ECCE (free pre school scheme) CCS ( parents in receipt of social welfare payment or medical card ) GETS ( parents attending a VTOS course) Limited places available at the moment for new children and it is advised to book early for Sept. Trocaire. - The Lenten Trocaire campaign boxes are due to be collected. Please bring them to the church as soon as possible so that the amount collected can be forwarded to Trocaire.

Congratulations - Congratulations to Anthony and Catherine Mc Evoy Crosspatrick on the recent birth of their daughter Catherine and congrats also to Stephen Holohan and Shauna McCarthy on the birth of their son Tyler Craig . Both infants were baptised recently in St. Kieran’s Church.

Children with special needs - The Annual Church Door Collection for children with special educational needs in the Diocese is listed for next weekend April 13/14th. The money collected is targeted for special needs projects which require additional funding to be raised locally. Last year supported projects for 66 children attending Mother of Fair Love school where 22 parishes are represented. Your generosity to this collection will be greatly appreciated.

St. Kieran’s Athletic Club - Congratulations to Lauren Hayde, Mateusz Pietrzykowski and Kealan Dermody for excellent performances at the open sports day in Kilmacow on Easter Monday. Lauren received 2nd in the U17 girls 706 m and 3rd in the shot putt and Matt received 2nd in the U16 boys 100m. Well done to all three. Training continues each Wed evening from 6.30 to 7.30 and on Sunday from 12.15 to 13.45 behind Colaiste Mhuire. Please come and join us!
