The Camogie Club currently has five members on the County senior and intermediate panels. They are Jacqui and Edel Frisby, Keeva and Mags Fennelly and Kellyann Cotterell. Both panels are through to the National Camogie League Division 1 and 2 semi-final’s in the next two weeks.

Kilkenny - Well done to Colin and Michael Fennelly who were both on the Kilkenny team who defeated Cork recently in Nowlan Park. Colin captained the team that day – and will captain them again for the league semi-final they are due to play in two weeks time. Meanwhile Michael’s performance in the game was strong enough to earn him the MOTM award. He capped his performance with a superb point in the dying seconds of the game.

It is hoped that TJ Reid and Henry Shefflin will regain sufficient fitness to rejoin the panel soon, though it is not clear yet exactly when this might happen.

Ballyhale Shamrocks members would join with other supporters in wishing the Kilkenny manager Brian Cody a speedy recovery from a planned heart surgery he had in the last week.

Sheff’s - It is with sadness that the announcement of the imminent closure of Sheff’s has been greeted. Both Ciara and John have thanked their loyal customers who in turn have wished them well in their new pub venture in Kilkenny City.

It is not that long ago that the village of Ballyhale could sustain three public houses but unfortunately the trade is not there anymore as fewer young people are around and working. We wish Ciara and John all the best!

Fundraiser - Young James Kennedy (Knocktopher) is involved in a fundraiser. He is taking part in a water babies Splashathon. It can be found and supported on mycharity.ie.

Birthdays - Some recent Birthdays included Ann Kennedy (Ballyhale), Sean O’Sullivan (Ballyhale), Paddy Phelan (Coolmeen), Aidan Burke (Thomastown via Knocktopher), Richie Reid (Kiltorcan), Aisling Dwyer (Greywood) and Big Tommy Walsh for whom a Birthday party was held in Andy’s last weekend! Happy Birthday to all!
