Hope you all enjoyed (and managed to stay warm) over the Easter weekend. Here at Age Friendly Kilkenny we are asking people to check on older neighbours, not only in this unusual cold weather, but anytime.
As always there’s plenty going on in our vibrant city and county to keep you occupied during these Spring months. Here’s just a taster;
‘Art it’ is a walk in art studio for all ages situated in The Goods Shed, MacDonagh Junction, Kilkenny. The teacher Didi, who made Kilkenny her home back in 1999 gives people the chance to get involved in art in a way that suits them. This year Kilkenny Musical Society celebrates its 40th anniversary, and to mark this very special milestone the Society have chosen Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic masterpiece “The Pirates of Penzance”. “Pirates” will be staged at the Watergate Theatre for 7 performances opening on Sunday 7th April at 8pm nightly. Droichead Family Resource Centre, Callan is running a Basic Digital Photography Course. It starts on Wednesday 4th April from 2.30pm–4.30pm. The course will run for 5 weeks and costs €30. Contact Brid on 056-77 555 19 Ext 1
AGEING WITH CONFIDENCE - The Ageing with Confidence Course aims to increase participants’ self confidence by facilitating people to explore their own ageing; challenging the myths and stereotyping that lead to ageism; and providing information on physical, psychological and social aspects of growing older. The course consists of 8 weekly two-and-a-half hour sessions and each session is delivered by two facilitators trained by Age & Opportunity in Association with Kilkenny’s Age Friendly County Programme.
