Johnstown Community Childcare Centre is now enrolling for places in August/September. The Centre will provide extended morning sessions daily 8am to 1.30pm pending HSE approval for children age 2 to 5 years. At the centre there is a purpose built outdoor interactive play area, age appropriate “highscope cirrriculum” class room and an energetic, enthusiastic, qualified, professional staff team. Childcare grants are available under “ Free preschool”. The new service for afterschool will open in September with free” pick ups” at both junior and senior finishing times supervised homework support, hot snacks and lots of fun activities and much more. Whist Drive

A whist drive will be held in St Mary’s Hall , Johnstown on next Friday night June 14th. First game is at 8.30. This is a continuation of the summer whist drives with all proceeds going to charity.

Active Retired Association... Johnstown Branch has organised a day trip on Thursday July 4th . The trip will visit Lullymore Heretage and Discovery Park and Bog Train, then on to Straffan to the Butterfly Museum and ending the evening with a meal in The Silken Thomas in Kildare. Congratulations

Congrats to Donal and Madge Phelan, Church Road, Johnstown on the birth of their daughter Cara Rose Phelan and also to John and Anne Marie Renehan, Violet Hill on the birth of their son Thomas James Renehan. Both babies were baptised recently in St Kierans Church, Johnstown.

Colaiste Mhuire

“Lets get crafting Kids” summer camp July 1st = 3rd 10am to 2pm catering for age group 8-10 years. July 15th-17th 12 noon to 4 pm catering for age 11-13 years. Cost €30, places limited. Application forms available at the school office.

Church Caretakers

The 2nd of the two annual collections for the churches caretakers takes place at all Masses next weekend. The usual collectors are asked to attend. Your generous support for this collection would be greatly appreciated in view of the excellent work carried out in always having the churches in pristine condition and always prepared for various celebrations in the parish.

Cemetery Masses... The annual cemetery Mass in Johnstown Cemetery will be held on Tuesday July 16th at 7.30pm and in the old Cemetery, Donoughmore on Tuesday July 23rd at 7.30pm. We dont want to think about bad weather but in the event the Masses will be in St Kieran’s Church!
