Cloneen- secured a good win last Sunday over Bennettsbridge in the third round of the junior hurling league at well attended Bennetsbridge. The locals started well and were two points up after 4 minutes but two frees from Graham lawlor levelled proceedings shortly after.Cloneen with their half back line and centre field beginning to take control began to ask serious questions of the Bennetsbridge rear guard. After 20 minutes play Cloneen got the break they deserved with Paudraig Maher breaking away from his marker to fire on goal only for the goalie to make a great save but Ronan Walsh following through forced it over the line. From that moment until half time Cloneen took over and a wonder goal from MJ Feehan capped off a great first half display. The second half was much closer when the locals down 2.8 to 0.7 came out with great determination and skill to reduce the margin to five points but Cloneen never panicked and after a few bad wides were able to tack on points at vital stages of the game to win on a final score of 2.13 to 0.13.
