ST KIERANS ATHLETIC CLUB-On the first two Sunday’s in May, members of the Club participated in the County ‘A’ Championships in Kilkenny. Everyone did extremely well in their individual events with many personal bests’ being achieved. Of special note were Ben Guilfoyle and Mateusz Pietrzykowski who both competed in the U15 boys category. Ben received 1st in the 800m, 2nd in the 200m, 2nd in the 250m hurdles, 3rd in the 100m and 3rd in the 400m. Matt received 2nd in the 800m, 2nd in the long jump and 3rd in the 200m. Congratulations to them both on a fantastic performance and to the entire team! Members of the team over the two days included Victoria and Jack Lupton, Nonie Lavelle, Katie Bergin, Emmet and Jude McKinley, Micheàl and Kealan Dermody, Ben Guilfoyle and Mateusz Pietrzykowski. Training continues each Thursday evening from 6:45p.m. to 7:45p.m. and Sunday from 12:15-13:45 behind Colaiste Mhuire. New members always welcome.

ST ANNE’S CAMOGIE CLUB-The Leinster Minor camogie Final took place in Gorey Co. Wexford on Saturday May 12. Kilkenny V Dublin. Kilkenny will be happy with the outstanding results of Kilkenny 4-10 Dublin 1-12. St Anne’s were represented by Siobhan and Mary Corcoran on the day. Congratulations to the girls. St Anne’s U14 team played against Kilmacow in Johnstown on Monday May 14. St Anne’s will play the Rower next Thursday 24 in Inistioge at 7pm.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION-Last weekend was First Holy Communion Weekend in Johnstown and Crosspatrick where the children received the sacrament for the first time. Johnstown children: Kevina Cullen, Kealan Dermody, John Doheny, Kady Downey, Sarah McCarthy, Niamh McCormack, Roisin Mackey, Evan Maher, Alexis Purcell, Daniel Whelan.
