SOCCER RESULTS - Bridge United A team lost 1-0 to Lions in Goresbridge. The Bridge team was reduced to 10 men early in the first half but held their own. Lions scored with twenty minutes to go but Bridge United never stopped attacking and Lions can be indebted to their goalkeeper who pulled off 3 good saves in the last 10 minutes.

Bridge B team played East End B in Goresbridge and eventually scored to win 1-0. This is their ninth league win to keep their 100 per cent record and edge them closer to the league title with 3 games left. The under 15 team beat Freebooters 4-2 in Goresbridge, the under 11’s were not as lucky against the same opposition and lost on the same score line.

SIX OUT OF SIX - Bridge Utd U9s continued their winning run, making it six from six with a powerful display against East End on a score line of 3-1, with goals from Mikey Knox, Dylan Hunston and Joe Healy.

The level of play was such that players from older Bridge teams watching the U15 on the adjacent pitch remarked that they knock the ball about better than they, a fine tribute to the hard work put in by all.

With big performances all over the field it’s hard to single out players, but Donagh Murphy, Mikey Knox and Luke Fenlon deserve particular mention.

Paul wants to thank all the players for the hard work and a special thanks to the parents for their continued commitment and support.

Goresbridge Rural Development is responsible for organising it but those of you who do Split the Pot and have bought a calendar are the people that made it possible. Thanks to Ann Nolan for allowing it to go up there, thank you to our Fás and Tus teams for getting the job done and for electrician, Franco Devitor for sorting out the lights. If you would like to put a bauble on the tree to remember someone this Christmas you are welcome to do so.
