Invitation- The children of St Kieran’s National School invite you to join them for the Children’s Christmas Mass on next Sat Dec 22nd at 7.30pm in St Kierans Church, Johnstown. The children have all been working hard preparing for the Mass and together with their parents ask you to please attend and support them.

Gathabawn Walk-The annual St Stephen’s Day walk takes place as usual this year. Funds raised will be divided equally between chosen charities Prague House and Gathabawn Rural Development group to fund the continued enhancement of the village and surrounds. The walk starts from Gathabawn at 12 noon with registration before hand. Watch out for Kilkenny Hurling Trophies on display. Hot soup will once again be available free of charge to returning walkers by kind donation of Glanbia, Ballyragget. The walk follows a varied route over the scenic Cullahill Mountain taking in the Binnenea Loop and the new Gathabawn Loop Walk. The long route is about 7 miles and the short route is about 4 miles. Good footwear is essential.

St Vincent de Paul- The annual collection for St Vincent de Paul Society took place at both churches last weekend. The generousity of the people is particularly appreciated in these difficult financial times when many families are finding it so difficult to provide a proper Christmas for their children.

Christmas Whist Drive-The Whist Drive in St Mary’s Hall last Sat. night had great support. There was a great selection of prizes in both the whist and the raffle. Top score went to Henry Cooke.
