Bennettsbridge: All Ireland medals for Laura Walpole

ATHLETICS - Well done to Laura Walpole, Bennettsbridge who collected two All Ireland medals at the recent All Ireland cross country finals in Adamstown Co Wexford. Laura competed in the U19 Girls 4000m race with Thomastown Athletic Club that finished in 3rd club team position and was also a member of the Kilkenny county team that finished in 2nd position in the inter county section. The standard of competition in these finals was very high as all athletes competing in the All Irelands have had to qualify through regional finals, and to get this far requires dedication and hard training to achieve such a high level of fitness. To medal in these events is a significant achievement.
