Afternoon Tea Dance - Dust off your dancing shoes for the afternoon tea dance at Tullaroan community centre on Sunday March 10th. Dancing commencing from 3pm to 6pm and music will be by Checkers.Admission €10.00 and includes ea, sandwiches, hot and cold finger food and raffle. All monies raised will go to the ongoing maintenance at the community centre.
Ashbourne Cup Finals - University College Limerick was venue for the Ashbourne Cup Finals on the weekend of 16th and 17th February. On Saturday W.I.T. took on U.C.D. in the All Ireland semi final where local girls Noelle Maher, Tullaroan Village played on the W.I.T. team and Grace Walsh, Mountgale on the U.C.D. team, W.I.T. came out the winners. In the second semi final Limerick University took on National University Galway where Limerick were the winners.
On Sunday Limerick University went on to play Waterford Institute of Technology in the All Ireland Final. This turned out to be a very closely contested match that went to extra time where they finished up level, in the second extra time W.I.T. went on to snatch the game coming from four points down. W.I.T. retained the title for the fifth year in a row. Congratulations to Noelle Maher who gave a great account of herself on both days for W.I.T.
St. Vincent De Paul Society - A National fund is available in the St. Vincent De Paul Society to assist people who are in second level ad third level education. Presentation of Medals - On Saturday evening last the under 14,16 and minor hurling teams gathered in the Tullaroan community centre where they were presented with their winning medals for 2012 by Tullaroan and Kilkenny hurling All Star Tommy Walsh.
Simon Walton, chairman of Bord Na Nóg addressed the gathering and introduced speakers, Dick Walshe, Chairman, Tullaroan Hurling Club, Joseph Pyke, treasurer Co. Bord Na Nóg and Tommy Bawle, secretary Co. Bord Na Nóg.

Eileen A Legend in The Children’s Eyes - TV3 organised a competition called My Local Legend, where children of all ages were asked to put pen to paper and tell us who stands out in their community as a legend in their eyes. Molly Glennon, from Senior Infants in Scoil Ruadháin, Tullaroan, nominated her S.N.A., Eileen O’Neill, who won the competition in Co. Kilkenny. A camera crew from TV3, including presenter Noel Cunningham, visited the school on Monday February 18th, to interview Molly and Eileen. The programme will be televised on Friday March 1st, on TV3, at 8.15 a.m.

Kilkenny Senior Hurling - Tommy Walsh, Mountgale was on the Kilkenny senior hurling team that went under to Galway in the first round of the League held at Galway on Sunday last. Tommy’s brother Padraig was also on the panel. A bus of parents, supporters and the Tullaroan minor hurling team travelled to Galway where the minors played a match.
Loreto Reach The Colleges Camogie Final - Miriam Walsh, Mountgale was on the Loreto Kilkenny senior camogie team who overcame St. Patrick’s, Maghera in the All Ireland Colleges semi final held in Maghera on Saturday last. They will now play Loughrea in the All Ireland Final.
On the eve of the match there was a surprise cutting of a beautiful cake made by local lady Ms. Joanne Bibby to celebrate Miriam’s 18th Birthday.
