Gowran - Hurlers hope to bounce back

HURLERS ATTEMPT TO BOUNCE BACK TO WINNING WAYS - Following the disappointment of their opening round defeat to Mooncoin last Saturday week in the opening round of the Michael Lyng Motors Intermediate Hurling League, Young Irelands of Gowran will be attempting to make amends against neighbours Thomastown this coming weekend.

HURLERS ATTEMPT TO BOUNCE BACK TO WINNING WAYS - Following the disappointment of their opening round defeat to Mooncoin last Saturday week in the opening round of the Michael Lyng Motors Intermediate Hurling League, Young Irelands of Gowran will be attempting to make amends against neighbours Thomastown this coming weekend.

Thomastown are a team high in confidence at present following success in the All-Ireland Junior Club Championship, and they began their Intermediate campaign with an emphatic 10-point victory (3-11 to 0-10) over Conahy Shamrocks.

At time of writing, match has been confirmed for Tom Walsh Park, Skeoughvosteen on Friday evening at 7.30pm.

GOWRAN PARK STAGES ALL FLAT MEETING - This evening Gowran Park stages another all flat meeting commencing at 5.15pm.

It’s the start of 5 meeting in the coming months throughout the Summer.

There is another flat meeting in three weeks time, Thursday May 30th, while there are further meetings on Sunday June 23rd, Tuesday July 2nd, and Wednesday 14th August.

The meeting on June 23rd will be an all National Hunt Card with the Jack Duggan Hurdle the feature event, and to add to the glamour, it will be also be Ladies Day.

Meanwhile, the prestigious Hurry Harriot Listed Stakes will be the feature for the August evening meeting.
