It was a great comeback from 4-2 down with just ten minutes to go from the team who were forced to play without several of their regular players due to hurling commitments and suspensions and it was up to the younger players to step up and maintain the Juniors unbeaten league run since Christmas and they didn’t disappoint.. Team; S.McGree, E.Hayes, M.Nolan,MFarrell, D.Burke. L.Bassett, S.Burke, F.Lalwor, M.Burke,. E.Vaughan, J.Sweeney – Subs – R.Condon, G.Doheny, D.Burke, H.Burke. The U12 boys finished off their league campaign away to Thomastown on Thursday evening last and came out victorious on a 1-0 scoreline. Aidan Tallis getting the all important goal early in the second half.  Freshford battled hard all the way through the match and were unlucky not to add to the scoreline. However it was a great result and super performances all round by the entire squad with Eoin Delaney and Cathal O’Leary getting the Man of the match awards.  It was a great display and ideal preparation as they are away to Evergreen A on Bank Holiday Monday in the U12 Cup semi final.

The U11 boys played at home to table toppers Deen Celtic who now have almost certainly won the U11 league.  In a very even and exciting game Freshford were unlucky to find themselves 1-0l down just before half time as they created some good chances and Kyle Dawson was unlucky when he struck the post.  Freshford pushed hard for the equaliser and again were unlucky when Cian Franey’s header was cleared off the line.  Alan Rafter and Jack O’Sullivan in defence gave man of the match performances for Freshford but try as the might the Freshford boys could not break down a very strong Deen Celtic defence who came out worthy winners.  Well done to local boys Josh McCarthy, Elijah Garrett and Cathal O’Leary who played with the Kilkenny County Squads in Dublin recently in the Leinster Final against the Dublin North Team. They were unlucky to be beaten 1 - 0 .
