Soccer - History was made over the May Bank holiday. Firstly the women’s team continued their dominance of the women’s soccer in Kilkenny by securing another cup to add to their league championship. The women’s team won 2-1 against East End and are surely earned the title of best team in Kilkenny ladies soccer history.
The men’s team finally stepped out of the women’s shadow in winning the 2nd division with a game to spare. The 2 0 away victory to Evergreen secured their first league title since the division 3 title in 1993. This will go down as the greatest success for the men’s team and congratulations to the entire squad of players and the their mangers Philly Coogan and Davie Roche.
First Holy Communion - Twelve children from Scoil Ruadháin will receive their First Holy Communion in the Church of The Assumption, Tullaroan this Sunday.

Parish Pastoral Council - The council will meet in the Parochial House at 8pm on Wednesday 8th May. All members are asked to attend.
Irish Premature Babies Association - On Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May a cake and book sale will be held in the Tullaroan community centre. All monies raised will go to the Irish Premature Babies Association. If you have any books to donate please leave them into the donation box in Delaney’s Shop, Tullaroan Village.
Spin and Win - Liam Kenny was the lucky winner of €80.00 in Connolly’s Lounge on Saturday last. There will be ten €1000.00 and two €1200.00 on the wheel this weekend.
Cake and Book Sale - A cake and book sale in aid of Irish Premature Babies Association will be held after Mass on 18th and 19th May. If you would like to donate any books for the sale please leave them into Delaney’s Shop, Tullaroan. Your support would be very much appreciated.
Prague House Fundraiser - Prague House Freshford are again running their Benefit Night of Greyhound Racing at James Park Kilkenny on Friday 17th May next. This night always proves to be a very enjoyable night with many valuable prizes for patrons with tickets purchased beforehand.
Ticket sellers are selling the tickets in the parishes of Freshford, Lisdowney, Tullaroan and beyond. Tickets can also be purchased from Prague House. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
Epilepsy Association - The association will hold a Church gate collection this weekend.
Hurling - Tommy Walsh, Mountgale played on the Kilkenny senior hurling team that overcame Tipperary in the League Final held at Nowlan Park on Sunday afternoon last. Padraig Walsh was also on the panel.
Active Retirement Association - Tullaroan active retirement association will meet at 2pm in the Community Centre on 15th May. All are welcome.
Blood Donations - The mobile unit will visit Kilkenny on Wednesday 8th May from 4.30pm to 8pm.
Camogie - The Tullaroan camogie club held a very successful cabaret in the Valley Inn on Sunday last. A big thanks to all for their support.
Golf - Tullaroan golf society held a very enjoyable outing at Callan Golf Club on Saturday last where the course was in great condition.
Winners on the day 1st. Anslem Molloy, 2nd Dick Walshe (Village), 3rd. Peter Holland. Category one winner Bobby Sweeney category two Eamon Sweeney and category three Brian Dillon, front nine Mick Tobin, back nine John Connolly, nearest the pin Dick Walshe and longest drive went to Paul Browne. The prizes were presented in Connolly’s Lounge on Saturday night by the society captain Dick Walshe.
The next outing will be held in Mount Wolseley, Tullow on the Monday of the June Bank Holiday.
Senior Club Hurling - Tullaroan senior hurling team will line out against neighbours Graigue/Ballycallan in St. Canice’s Kilkenny Credit Union Ltd., Senior Hurling League at the Dicksboro sports grounds on Friday night at 7pm.
