PRO LIFE INFORMATION EVENING - A Pro Life information Evening will be held in the Spellman Hall, Kildavin, on Friday, May 10 at 8pm. Guest speakers Bernadette Goulding, Rachels Vineyard, Cork.
She will give a testimony on her own abortion and give a message of hope and healing to women and families hurt by abortion. Patrick Carr “Family & Life” Dublin will show the work he and his team do with young people in colleges around the country and he will speak on the implications to legislation for abortion in Ireland. All welcome to attend and support greatly appreciated.
PRESENTATION - Bagenalstown Baden Powell Scout Troup recently presented a generous cheque to representatives of Saplings School, Goresbridge. Over the last three years the Troop has donated a portion of the proceeds from its annual Fun Quiz and other events to Saplings School, with a total of €1,700 raised so far. The Baden Powell Troop is proud to be associated with Saplings School and wishes them continued success in their good work.
COPS AND DONUTS -The Bagenalstown Baden Powell Scout Troop was proud to be associated with the “Cops and Donut Shops” event in Bagenalstown recently. The fantastic event was in aid of Special Olympics and was run jointly by An Garda Siochana, Bagenalstown Fire Brigade, Civil Defence, BEAM Services and the Scout Troop. A total of €2,070 was raised in the town on the day in question and great credit is due to all involved. The organisers would like to thank the personnel from all the agencies involved, the individual volunteers who assisted, Special Olympics who gave their time to the event and everybody who bought donuts and contributed generously to the collection. Thanks also to the Buzz Newsletter, Connolly’s SuperValu, Aldi and the Bank of Ireland for their courtesy and co-operation.

Unfortunately she didn’t get the big prize but got a gift voucher from Reddy’s instead.
FESTIVAL AGM - Bagenalstown Festival Committee has organised their Annual General Meeting for Tuesday night, April 14 in the McGrath Hall at 9pm. It is hoped that all existing members will attend. The committee would also like to invite new members to help out this Year of the Gathering to make this a great event. Anything that can bring a crowd of people together for the weekend has to be good for the town, so if you have some spare time or a good idea for an event go along and tell them about it and they will be only too glad to listen
FIELD DAY - The annual Field Day in aid of Our Lady’s National School will be held in Nurney Village on Sunday, June 9. Gates open at 2pm for a fun day out for all the family. CARLOW SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION - That time of year again! Carlow Summer Camp will run from July 8 to 12 and caters for 5-12 year olds. 50th CELEBRATION WEEK-END - Muine Bheag Vocational School will celebrate their 50th Anniversary on the week-end of October 4th and 5th. The celebrations will start at 7pm on Friday, October 4 with a Celebration Service, unveiling of a commemorative piece, craftwork and photographic exhibition, followed by entertainment and refreshments.
