Ballyragget: Blooming show this Friday

FLORAL DEMOSTRATION - A floral demonstration hosted by Ballyragget ICA in aid of Suicide or Survive (SOS) will be held in the Canon Malone Hall, Ballyragget on Friday 2nd November at 8pm, Admission is only €5 and there will be a raffle on the night – please come along and lend your support to this worthy cause. It is hoped that funds raised from this event will be used to assist in running Wellness Workshops in Kilkenny in the future.

CHILDMINDING COURSE - Are you a childminder or thinking of becoming a childminder? An “introduction to childminding course” will take place in Kilkenny on Saturday 10th and Saturday 17th of November from 10am – 4pm each day. SQUASH CLUB - The club welcomes new and old members and membership can now be paid - Adult membership is €40 and juvenile membership is €20. DR. DAVID COLEMAN AT HEYWOOD - As part of the Adult Education Programme Heywood Community School will host Dr. David Coleman, psychologist and presenter of “Teens in the Wild” on R.T.E. for a talk followed by a workshop in the School sports hall on the 6th December. GAA - The St. Patricks hurlers are in action on Saturday next the 3rd of November in the County Intermediate Semi Final against the Rower Inistioge. BRIDGE CLASSES FOR BEGINNERS - Conahy Bridge Club are organising bridge classes for beginners. Mrs. Catherine Brennan, CBA qualified bridge teacher will give the 8-week course in Conahy Hall. HEYWOOD SILVER CIRCLE - Results of Heywood Community School Silver Circle Draw. The final draw was made last Tuesday and once again luck came Ballyragget s way. HAVE YOU TIME TO SPARE - S.O.S. is a Voluntary Organisation in Kilkenny for adults with a mild-moderate intellectual disability, providing day services, respite and residential care. We are looking for families or individuals (hosts) to provide short breaks (day/overnight/weekend) in their home for adults from our services. Each host is matched with one person from S.O.S. and an expense allowance is paid for each break provided. We are also looking for volunteers to support us in providing extra social and recreational activities for people attending S.O.S. in the evening time or weekends. Do This in Memory of Me - Thanks to all the parents and parishioners who have undertaken to help the children who are preparing to receive their First Communion next May. The “Do This in Memory “is a parish based programme in which all can help. Eucharistic Adoration in the O’Gorman Home Oratory every Tuesday morning 10am – 12 noon. Please come along and spend some time in the Presence of God. Please have anniversaries and notices for the newsletter in by 2 pm on Thursdays. All anniversaries will be included but months minds and 1st anniversaries will have to take precedence in masses for the dead.
