THREE games in and champions, Kilkenny, have all but kissed goodbye to the National Hurling League title with defeat to Cork, 0-18 to 1-13.
The figures can be crunched whatever way you like and the case why that might not be the way can be made with force and conviction, but it would take an extraordinary run of events now for the Noresiders to end up involved in the business end of the competition.
Last week Kilkenny performed well when losing against Tipperary. This time they did even better, with the defence again in superb form, while there was the bonus of the weakened attack showing to better effect too.
