Bristol City snap up Kilkenny starlet
ANOTHER Kilkenny teenager will be hoping to aim to make a big splash in professional football. Former Evergreen schoolboy Jimmy Keohane has just put pen to paper on a one-year deal with Championship club Bristol City.
Keohane, who joined the English side from Wexford Youths, was one of two Irish players signed by manager Keith Millen. Joining him at Ashton Gate will be Patrick Hoban, who signed from Mervue United.
Keohane spent the last two seasons with the Wexford Youths. The last campaign was his most successful, as he scored four goals from midfield for Mick Wallace's side. Keohane also tasted football at international level, having played for the Republic of Ireland's under-19 side.
"Jimmy and Patrick are exciting prospects who are just happy playing football," said Millen. "They have been a breath of fresh air since they've arrived.
"We've got to work on their fitness a bit but it's great to have them finally signed up and on board."
Keohane will wear the number 31 for Bristol this season.
