Good debut for Martin's

St Martin's1-13 Tullaroan 0-11

ALL-IRELAND junior ‘B’ champions, St Martin’s (Balyfoyle/Coon/Muckalee) played in the junior ‘A’ League for the first time in three years on Friday and they scored a good win over Tullaroan after a very competitive game played before a good sized attendance in Muckalee.

A well taken goal by full-forward David Shore was the difference between the sides at the break when the winners led by 1-6 to 0-6.

Martin’s kept up the pressure in the second half and ran out good winners. A feature of the Martin’s victory was the fine performances of their four 17-year-old players, David Breen, Rurai Kinsella, Luke Maher and Thomas Walsh, all of whom were making their debut at this level.
