Yesteryears was launched on Wednesday night in at a packed Harry's Bar in Langton's.
The 164-page publication enthralled the gathering as local TD John McGuinness described the publication as a treasure trove of memories - delighted to see the late Dan Quigley pictured on the cover and "leading from the front."
He also complimented the Kilkenny People on the book. Hurling legend Eddie Keher also praised the newspaper, noting its close links with the community and citing some photographs from his former school, St Kieran's College in the book.
Another former past pupil, Mayor Pat O'Neill praised the publication stating it was a valuable addition to recoding the history of Kilkenny.
Editor of the Kilkenny People Brian Keyes thanked all for attending, and noted the contribution of local advertisers who supported the publication of Yesteryears. He also thanked all those who had contributed photographs to the publication.
The book retails at €10.
