ETB's Back to Education awards night

Director of Further Education and Training with Kilkenny and Carlow ETB Martha Bolger led the celebrations at KCETB’s Back to Education Initiative (BTEI) and Community Education QQI Awards Ceremony.

Also present at the ceremony were Councillor Matt Doran, Board Member with KCETB, Liam Scott Director of Organisation with KCETB and Pat Galvin, Co-ordinator with BTEI Kilkenny who served as MC for the night.

The adult learners celebrated with their family and friends. Their achievements included 446 component modules and 48 major awards at QQI levels 3, 4, 5 and 6.

The learners were complimented on their achievements by Cllr Doran and Ms Bolger, who encouraged them to persist with their learning journey and to progress to further achievement with a view to employment. They were joined by two current BTEI learners, Michael Ryan and Angela McCullagh, both of whom spoke of their inspirational educational journey with BTEI and explained how both have now moved into Employment and a Research Masters respectively.

BTEI and Community Education fund a number of projects around the county and they were joined on the night by three of these, The Good Shephard/Mens Shed project, Kingsriver Community at Ennisnag, and KCAT.
