Picture Gallery: Dicksboro savour senior success as GAA President attends Dinner Dance

Over 330 people attended the Dicksboro GAA club victory dinner dance in Langton’s on Friday night.
President of the GAA, Aogán Ó’Fearghaíl presented the medals to the senior players following their win in last year’s senior hurling championship. Manager of the team, Mark Dowling announced that the team management felt it was unfair to choose one player over another and the Patsy Lacey award for the outstanding player was presented to the panel and the longest serving member of the panel, Eddie O’Donoghue came up to accept the award from Patsy’s son, Declan, a valued member of the senior backroom team.
Eddie said that he was overjoyed to win a senior championship and said it was a dream come true.
Chairman of Kilkenny County Board of the GAA, Jimmy Walsh spoke eloquently of the rich heritage of the club and the esteem with which it was held and he regaled the audience with a defeat he and his club, Windgap, suffered at the hands of Dicksboro and recalled the kindness of the late Ted Carroll, the county secretary.
Dicksboro club chairman, Eddie Holohan outlined the year and the fact that the senior team had remained unbeaten in the league and championship.
