Gallery: Civic Reception for Kilkenny athletes who have qualified for Special Olympics

Mayor welcomes the group to City Hall

More than a dozen local athletes who have qualified for the Special Olympic Games in Dublin next year have been honoured at a Civic Reception here in Kilkenny.

Mayor of Kilkenny Michael Doyle, accompanied by several local councillors and members of the council executive, welcomed the 13 athletes who qualified for Special Olympics Team Leinster. A number of the athletes were also joined by family and friends.

Mayor Michael Doyle said it was a fantastic occasion and he was absolutely delighted to welcome the group who had done themselves proud.
