Letter to the Editor: Belview Port is not Kilkenny, Waterford man contends

'Your so-called strip on the River Suir is just an other attempt by your people to claim something from Waterford that was nor will ever be yours'

KILKENNY

The port is certainly close to the county boundary as per this image from Google Maps

Dear Editor,
May I take you to task over a recent article in the Kilkenny People wrongly describing Belview Port in Waterford Harbour as ‘Kilkenny Port’. Mr Matthews, when will you lot in that one-horse county you call Kilkenny every face up to reality?

In all known sea-faring maps, Belview Port is part of the Port of Waterford. Not Kilkenny. Your so-called strip on the River Suir is just an other attempt by your people to claim something from Waterford that was nor will ever be yours.

PS: Mr Matthews, I have no axe to grind with Kilkenny folk. I’m happy to say that some of my best friends are from Kilkenny.
Regards,
Patrick Fitzgerald,
Waterford City
