The cellar bar in Diageo was the venue for the launch of Celtic Cry which will run at the Watergate during July And August .
Celtic Cry tells the story of the history of Ireland from the beginning of time with the arrival of the Firbolg (The Gaels) to their Isle of Destiny as was foretold to them by Moses. The show dramatises Ireland’s history with music, song, dance and stories of the land of Tir na nOg, Queen Mebh (the great warrior queen), Cu Chulainn (an Dearg Doom), the mighty Fianna warriors, the Tain Bo Culailgne, the High Kings of Ireland, Brian Boru and his battle with the Vikings at the Battle Of Clontarf and much more!
Singer/Songwriter Martin Brennan began writing original material for the Celtic Cry show in 2010. Now with the help of the musical director John Travers and a cast of international musicians, has created a show for all nationalities and ages.
Wednesday nights launch saw a dream that started with local musicians Murt Brennan and John Travers come to fruition.
Theatre manager welcomed the guests and complimented the band for their energy and hard work and said that tourists and locals alike had a great show in store.
Launching the show, Mayor David Fitzgerald complimented the arts scene in Kilkenny and paid particular praise to the Watergate for the amount of shows both professional and amateur that have graced the stage over the last 20 years.
The mayor congratulated the local musicians for taking on the project and also welcomed the internation musicians to Kilkenny and wished them well on their stay in Kilkenny.

The show opens at the Watergate on July 4th and runs throughout July and August with a 7p.m start.
