A PAIR of outdoor theatrical performances are set to take place in County Kilkenny, the first of which will be this Sunday afternoon in Woodstock Gardens.
Sleeping Beauty will be taking centre stage in the performance by Chapterhouse Theatre Company at the Inistioge venue on Sunday at 3pm.
The company, which has staged productions in Kilmanagh’s Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre in previous summers, will then present Pride and Prejudice in Ballykeeffe on July 12 at 7.30pm.
Those attending are invited to bring a picnic to enjoy at both performances. The Woodstock grounds will open at 2pm on Sunday to allow for picnics, and attendees are advised to bring their own rugs or low-backed seating. There will be free car parking for those attending the performance, and refreshments will be available in the Tea Rooms.
Attendees are also invited to wear their favourite fancy-dress outfits and join the fairytale parade during the performances.
The shows are part of Chapterhouse Theatre Company’s tour of six productions in outdoor venues around Ireland and the UK, its 13th such tour since 2000.
