A COUNTY Carlow man has already made his new year’s resolution for 2012 and is confident to keep his wish to do more theatre performances, kicking off on January 13 with his first live concert in the George Bernard Shaw Theatre.

A COUNTY Carlow man has already made his new year’s resolution for 2012 and is confident to keep his wish to do more theatre performances, kicking off on January 13 with his first live concert in the George Bernard Shaw Theatre.

Country singer Derek Ryan, who has been on the road with his new country band since May. The 28-year-old from Garryhill was lead singer of pop boy band D-Side and went on to achieve three top 10 UK hits and a number one single in Japan in 2005.

Last month he launched his new CD, Made of Gold, in Carlow’s Lord Bagenal Hotel with guests including Jimmy Buckley and fellow D-Side member Damien Bowe. Derek’s guest for the January 13 show will be Louise Morrissey.
