The deadline for entry to the Thomas Moore Singing Competition has been extended due to mid-term break, so interested singers have until this Friday to send in their entry forms.
It’s shaping up to be a great show and the senior competition with a €500 cash prize courtesy of Kyeteler’s Inn promises to be a very hot competition as well with last year’s winner taking part and the best 5th and 6th year singers in the county. There is also the Kilkenny Academy of Music Bursary for the singer with the best potential and the Nostalgia Cafe Cup and the Rafter Dempsey Cup.
The primary school competition starts 9.30am on this Sunday in the Watergate Theatre, and secondary schools start at 2 pm. Families and friends are encouraged to support the singers and everybody who wants a great show for free is welcome as there is no admission charge.
