‘Fr Ted’ is one of the most successful comedies to host Irish talent and it’s credited with starting something of a revolution among our comics. Though a limited number of shows were screened, the content remains fresh and much loved.
So it’s understandable that spin-offs are popular. We’ve seen Ted Fest spring up in the West and last year Laughlines Comedy Entertainment launched Ted and Co-The Dinner Show at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It sold out there for every show and picked up five-star reviews and standing ovations.
Now it hopes to do the same in Kilkenny when it hits Langton’s this Thursday from 7.30pm.
The audience will get to dine a la Ted as the Craggy Island crew serve up the three courses. Mrs Doyle is never too far away with her teapot and encouraging “go on, go on” while who knows what’ll happen when Fr Jack, Dougal and Ted are thrown into the mix.
The seating’s from 7.30pm, and tickets cost €45 from the venue. Demand is expected to be high so call ahead to book a place.
