His US tour may have been postponed, but Irish fans still get Declan O’Rourke and if you’re around Kilkenny then Saturday’s the night to put aside.

You may have seen and heard him on TV’s Saturday Night Show recently where he performed The Hardest Fight. Or perhaps you’ve caught him at a local gig over the years.

Either way, the Set Theatre is the place to be for this wonderful performer and his band on Saturday from 8pm.

The honey-toned singer has been building on his fan base since the release of debut album Since Kyabram. And the first single, Galileo, touched the hearts of many, among them Snow Patrol, Kate Rusby, DJs Jonathon Ross and Edith Bowman.

He’s been going from strength to strength since and has performed alongside Paulo Nutini, The Cardigans, Divine Comedy and Paul Brady among others, while Galileo itself has been recorded by many others including Josh Groban.

But rather than sit back, he’s still going strong. Earlier this year he took part in Electric Burma, a concert celebrating Aung San Suu Kyi, the Burmese humanitarian.

This is a gig you’ll not want to miss.

Tickets cost €20 and are available from the venue.
