Members of choirs throughout Ireland are being invited to participate in the Kilkenny Arts Festival Choir this August.
The work being performed this year is Beethoven’s Mass in C, and those involved will be provided with tuition from experienced singers under the direction of Fergus Sheil. There will be workshops with leading soloists, and rehearsals will take place throughout festival week, culminating with a performance on August 18 in St Canice’s Cathedral
The cost of participating is €70, which covers the purchase of music, the making of a practise CD and administrative costs. Festival Chorus members will also be entitled to a reduction in ticket prices to other festival events and selected accommodation.
Places are limited in order to maintain a balanced choir. Places will be secured on a first come, first served basis, after which names will go on a waiting list in the case of cancellations.
The application form is available from www.kilkennyarts.ie, or email email@example.com or call 056 7763663 for details.
Anyone wanting to secure a place can submit an entry form along with €70 non-refundable fee to Kilkenny Festival Choral Project, c/o Kilkenny Arts Festival, 11 Patrick’s Court, Patrick Street, Kilkenny.
