THE ART of knitting has become ever so popular in the city and county.

Kilkenny Libraries now have three knitting groups who meet weekly to knit and natter, drink tea and solve the problems of the world. For a couple of hours a week, members escape the mundane world and enter a parallel space. Knitting is so therapeutic and it is also an opportunity to meet with like-minded individuals is a salve to the soul.

At the moment an exhibition of Tea Cosies from the Nattering Knitters of Castlecomer Library is on display in Loughboy Library. There are over 50 in the collection and they are a delight to behold.

Groups meet at the City Library’s K2TOG meet on Tuesdays from 6pm – 8pm, Castlecomer’s Nattering meet on Thursdays at 110am -12pm and the Graignamanagh’s Crafty Crew meet on Wednesdays from 10-30 – 12.30. All are welcome.
