Celebrated artist Diarmuid DeLargy, painter sculptor and printmaker is currently showing his latest work at the Blackbird Gallery on William Street.
The Belfast born artist and member of Aosdana again continues his series of Art and Extinction, his painterly preoccupation with the power and vunerability of indigenious Irish Sharks once again is the main theme of his work. Valerie Walshe is showing her own work for the first time this year, a collection of collages painting and drawing based on her own photography a nostalgic trip for many of what has been lost over the past decade and glimpses of a way of life long lost.
William Grace is on the first floor of the gallery with a sumptuous collection of beautiful landscapes , he is fast becoming one of the most highly regarded artists the South East has ever produced. Finally Kathleen Holohan has a collection of beautifully delicate pieces, the subtle shades of pinks, creams and browns are soothing and create an incredible sense of calm. A stark contrast to the bold Red Shoes that are also to be found on the second floor mezzanine. The show will remain open until the August 19 when the gallery will move to its new location at the Castle Yard Kilkenny.
