WORKSHOPS in the native practice of the Maori Poi will start this November as part of Abhaínn Rí Festival Training with Maríosa Hume from StageCraft Ireland.
The practice has evolved over time from dance to martial art, and circus to fun physical geometry in motion exploring concepts such as: direction and timing, turning and finding freedom to play and flow, weave, butterfly combinations, stalls, buzz-saw and windmill, learning to learn – learning theory, ideas and techniques and movement and the mind body connection. The workshops give an introduction to Poi, flags and glow techniques.
The course fee is €35 and the course dates are November 3, 10, 17, 24 and December 1 and 8. The course runs from 2pm to 5pm. For more information call Caroline in KCAT on 056 7755115 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
