A PHYSICAL Theatre workshop led by Maríosa Hume from StageCraft Ireland will take place at The Friary in Callan next month.
The workshop is aimed at all abilities who wish to develop skills with circus props. Physical Theatre work can enhance street and stage performance training. It explores various skills that can be used for comedy, mesmerising grandeur , solemn beauty or just simply thought-provoking moments and actions. This workshop will cover character development, movement awareness and expression, improvisation, rhythm and stage presence among others. Other areas covered include street performance choreography, movement with circus props, object manipulation, improvisation and dramatic play and introduction to juggling, diabolo and staff.
The course will take place over five Saturdays (November 3, 10, 17, 24 and December 1 and 8) from 10am to 1pm at The Friary, Mill Street, Callan.
