Kilkenny Lions Club have a fun fundraising lined up for Thursday night. Langton’s Hotel hosts the event which is titled Wine, Women & Shoes. In aid of suicide awareness singer Alan Hayes with attend with his mother Angela. Tickets cost €10 and participating outlets include: Collins Shoes, Graham Shoes, King Shoes, Goods, Pauls, Shutterbug, Padmore & Barnes, Elverys and SABO. It starts at 7:30pm and tickets cost €10.

Mark Geary

She performed on the Late Late Show last week and now Nicole Maguire is Kilkenny bound. She plays support to Mark Geary as he takes a break from working on his fifth studio album. Catch both at Cleere’s on Friday night. The show starts at 9:30pm.

Spring Into Song

Thukolo Gospel Choir will team with talented singers and musicians in Clara for a special performance in Clara Church this Friday night. Expected to be a sell-out success, the Spring Into Song concert begins at 8pm and will see the choral group entertain alongside Billy Carrigan and friends, Margaret Nolan and John Tully as well as the Clara National School Choir. Tickets cost €10 and are available from committee members and at Frescho, Happy Times and Glynn’s Mini Market. Proceeds will go to Clara National School.

Debs Fashion Night

If there’s a teenager in the house looking for something to wear to a formal event, then one event tonight (Wednesday) may appeal. Liam Dunne Promotions host a Debs Fashion Night in the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel from 7-10pm. Evening wear for this age group from local and national boutiques will be showcased alongside associated services through fashion shows and stalls. Race Night

A race night’s being planned for a Kilkenny City bar this weekend. The Left Bank hosts the occasion in aid of Suas Educational Development in India. Local man Tony Moore will teach in India for ten weeks and this event is to assist him in that project. To help the race night will take place on Friday night with first race at 8pm. There’ll be prizes for best dressed lady and man on the night and tickets cost €10.

Indigo Eye

Indigo Eye play The Pumphouse in Kilkenny this Saturday night. The foursome comprises talents of Kerri Ann O’Grady, Adam O’Neill, Brian Allen & Darra Doyle who together play a very varied setlist from Chuck Berry to Avicci. The gig starts at 9pm.

Tennis Time

Carlow Kilkenny Homecare Team will benefit from a special evening at Kilkenny City and County Lawn Tennis Club this Saturday. The Tommy Tyrrell perpetual trophy is up for grabs by those competing on the courts at 6:30pm and 7:30pm. That’s then followed by a cheese and wine reception, buffet and entertainment. Prizes have been sponsored by Pauls Kilkenny and cost for the night is €20 for tennis, buffet and entertainment or for the social side of things alone it’s €15.

Slow Art Day

International Slow Art Day takes place this Saturday and two local outlets are taking part. Since it’s founding in 2009, the day has grown from a single venue event held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City to over 180 venues around the world. This weekend participation begins in the Butler Gallery at Kilkenny Castle at 2:30pm then it’s over to the National Craft Gallery across the road, spending time at both enjoying the works on display.
