Kentucky singer and songwriter Daniel Martin Moore’s in town tonight (Wednesday).
En route to Cork for a concert in the Mitchelstown Caves, he’ll play a free gig in Billy Byrne’s.
In January 2007, he sent an unsolicited demo to Sub Pop Records and they released his Stray Age album in October of 2008.
In February of 2010, Sub Pop released Dear Companion, an album written and performed by Ben Sollee and Daniel Martin Moore together, and produced by Jim James from My Morning Jacket and Monsters of Folk.
Daniel’s newest album, In the Cool of the Day, was released in January, when he once again worked with Jim James (credited on the album as Yim Yames). The album is Daniel’s take on gospel songs he grew up with as well as a few originals.
Catch Daniel play Billy Byrne’s this Wednesday, after the mid-week movie night.
