IVERK Show will be e held on Saturday, August 25 and some new events are being looked at, along with improvements to the layout of the Show Grounds which should help to make the day very enjoyable for all our visitors.
This year’s prize list is now available online at www.iverkshow.com and lists have been sent out to all of last year’s exhibitors. Any queries in connection with the list should be directed to Sara @ 051-644621. Horse and pony entries can be entered online this year. This is a new idea and if successful this will be extended to other areas next year. Entries have to be in by August 10 for most events but if you have a late entry contact Sara and she will do her best to accommodate you. Due to changes in the layout there is some extra space for Trade Stands but once again apply in time as last year’s Trade Space was full to capacity.
Two specific events that the committee are looking for and appealing for your support. One being the tug-of-war which will be introduced if the committee can get eight teams to come to the Show. An incentive will be the €500 prize fund for the event so hopefully there are people who will consider bring a team. The other event is The cherry cake competition which has been a huge success at the Show for many years. The cherry cake competition has a prize fund of €650 which is sponsored by local business Iverk Produce Ltd. Last year approximately 80 cherry cakes were presented for judging and the committee are appealing for an extra effort to bring entries up to 100.
The rest of the prize list covers all the main events and this year the Iverk Broodmare and Foal Championship is back to All-Ireland status, with well known firm Tennyson Grass Machinery taking on the sponsorship.
