Welcoming back old friends

Last weekend, Keith and Kathleen Leadbetter of Jerpoint Glass Studio, were delighted to welcome, Mary Mahony and Derek Keaveney from Canada to their studio.The couple ran “The Irish Shop” in Toronto for over forty years and were one of Jerpoint’s first overseas customers.

Last weekend, Keith and Kathleen Leadbetter of Jerpoint Glass Studio, were delighted to welcome, Mary Mahony and Derek Keaveney from Canada to their studio.The couple ran “The Irish Shop” in Toronto for over forty years and were one of Jerpoint’s first overseas customers.

Back in 1979, when Jerpoint Glass was first establishe they met at the Annual Trade Fair in the RDS. Thus began a working relationship which was to last over forty years. The shop stocked a large range of Jerpoint Glass and was a valuable showcase for Jerpoint and other Irish Crafts. The couple retired from business some years ago and are in Ireland for a well-earned break.
