MASTER craftswoman, jeweller Maureen Lynch set up her first business in Kilkenny’s Castle Yard where she designed her very first jewellery collection in 1991.
She has since gone from strength to strength, winning a number of awards and accolades and having her work featured in key retailers in Ireland and the UK.
“I’ve designed each piece to be worn every day, and to mature with the wearer,” says Maureen. For 2012, she has taken inspiration from one of her original, iconic pieces from that first collection. The Eternal bangle is a stunning piece – moving from thick to thin, from flat to round – and was the ‘hero’ of her first collection. This signature bangle has now been recreated in a child’s version, which can be stretched in later years to grow with the wearer.
Maureen is returning to Kilkenny Design Centre on Saturday (December 14) where she will be working at her bench in store from 12pm. She will be showing off the tools of her trade and happy to discuss her work as well as offering an exclusive free gift with purchase on the day.
