‘Moths against Glass’ an anthology of poetry and prose by New Irish Writers will be launched this Friday at St Kieran’s College.
The group consists of 18 local writers: Catherine Blake, Niamh Boyce, John Byrne, Michael Doran, Helena Duggan, Patricia Hogan, Marie Hughes, Tom Humt, Irene Kane, Phyllis Mahfoud, Sylvia Martin, Celine Mescall, Scarlett O’ Brien, Liz O’Rourke, Caroline Sutherland, Jennifer Wallace, Mary Walshe and Caroline Waugh who have come together to create this exciting new anthology.
Moths against Glass is a manual to the writer’s journey and contains works of fiction and non-fiction and of poetry and prose. The group chose the image of moths against glass for their collection because this book represents the great light they work towards - the completions and the creative highs.
This book is the white box into which the writers have dropped their experiences – the indistinguishable faintness of the spirit and the smiling morning of the heart. When you open it you’ll find your own reflection, a little worn, a little battered, a little frightened but most definitely alive.
