A REHEARSED reading of the Gillian Grattan play The Undertakers will take place on Friday at 8pm in The Bridgebrook Arms, Thomastown.
The Undertakers is set in the River Bank Bar in a village along the River Nore. Having closed up for the night, Shem and Bob sit chatting when they hear banging on the bar door. Following a accident, a number of unwanted guests arrive, including a corpse in a bizarre hostage situation. As the night progresses, it seems some people never know when to leave.
Written by Gillian Grattan, and directed and lit up by Andy O’Leary, The Undertakers was shortlisted in the RTÉ P.J. O’ Connor radio drama awards. It will be read on the night by John Morton, Dave Thompson, Aoibhín Murphy, Brian Hamilton, Frank Kelly and Bobby McDonald.
Admission is free.
