Kilkenny-based singer Iarla Ó Lionáird will be featured tonight (Thursday) at 9.30pm on TG4’s arts and cultural programme Imeall.
Ó Lionáird takes his Cúil Aodha style of sean-nós singing to new levels by collaborating with the likes of Afro-Celt Sound System, Gavin Bryars, Crash Ensemble, The Gloaming and more, and presenter Tristan Rosenstock has followed Ó Lionáird on the multi-faceted voyage he has travelled for some years. With his third album recently released, Rosenstock visits Iarla’s studio in Kilkenny to talk about his new material and his career. He will also perform one of his new songs exclusively for the show.
Imeall is broadcast every Thursday at 9.30pm on TG4 and is repeated every Sunday at 11.30pm.
