LOCAL art online network ArtLinks is offering a fund of e25,000 in bursaries for its membership in the five partner counties of Kilkenny, Carlow, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow for 2011.

Each partner county has e5,000 to be awarded to a successful practitioner in the categories of dance, music, drama/ theatre, literature, film and visual arts. It is at the discretion of each county as to how the e5,000 is divided but the minimum award to successful applicants will be e1,000.

These awards are designed to support the professional development of creative practitioners, aged 18 and over, who live in the ArtLinks five-county partnership region. Membership of Artlinks, which is supported by the Arts Council, is free on www.artlinks.ie.

Co Kilkenny arts officer Mary Butler said that the bursaries represented a significant investment in arts practitioners in the county, providing substantial awards for artists particularly in the current economic climate.

Full details of this fund, plus the Bursary Application Form and Guideline Notes, can be downloaded from www.artlinks.ie and on www.kilkennycoco.ie. Or contact the Kilkenny County Council Arts Office on 056 7794138 or email niamh.finn@kilkennycoco.ie.

Applications must be received by 5pm on July 1.
