Kilkenny violinist to perform with Irish Baroque Orchestra at St Canice's  Cathedral

Kilkenny violinist Jenna Raggett will be returning home to perform with the Irish Baroque Orchestra later this month.

The orchestra will perform Bach’s Matthew Passion alongside the vocal ensemble Sestina under the direction of Peter Whelan in St Canices Cathedral. A past pupil of St Canices Primary School and Loreto Secondary School, Jenna completed her violin studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin and the Royal College of Music in London, where she is currently based.

This concert is in collaboration with Music in Kilkenny and tickets can be purchased on their website: www.musicinkilkenny.org
The concert will take place at St Canice’s Cathedral on Thursday, March 23 at 6.30 pm.

Music in Kilkenny started out in 1990 as the Dame Alice Music Club, when it staged its first concert in Castle Blunden. It began organising concert series in 1996 before settling eventually into its present incarnation (Music in Kilkenny) organising two seasons of concerts a year, comprising world-class performers from the classical, traditional, world music and jazz genres.
