Wicklow Cheviot sheep drawing by
Hot on the heels of the sheepdog trials in Thomastown in Kilkenny, the International Sheepdog Trials are being held in Blessington, Co. Wicklow this year, commencing September 8 and with the big finale on Sunday the 10th.
The International Sheepdog Trials is a yearly competition which rotates between Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England and it demonstrates the natural ability of the sheepdog and the partnership between man and dog. This year sees Blessington host the most prestigious trophy in the calendar of events for sheepdog trialists.
Local Kilkenny artist Krisztina Rozanich has donated a piece of art specifically created for this event. Krisztina, in addition to being an artist, is an avid sheepdog trialist and sheepdog trainer.
"It is pure magic to work alongside your dog. The communication and partnership between you and your dog is unbelievable," she siad.
She is raffling off this drawing with all proceeds going to the International. It is an online raffle, hosted by the trusted idonate platform. The drawing is framed and ready to hang. It depicts 3 Wicklow Cheviot sheep which is the breed of sheep used in the competition this year. It will be on display at the International Sheepdog Societies tent for the duration of the event.
