Applications for funding for Culture Night 2024 in Kilkenny are being accepted until May 14 and people are being encouraged to participate in the initiative.
The Kilkenny Arts Office in association with the Arts Council are actively planning towards Culture Night Kilkenny 2024 and are looking forward to an exciting line-up of events.
The arts office at Kilkenny County Council are issuing an for funding towards the running costs of events taking place in Co. Kilkenny. This year Kilkenny City is designated as a night time economy pilot city. Under the Kilkenny City Night Time Economy Action Plan 2024-2025, additional funding has been provided this year to ensure Culture Night can facilitate more inclusive and innovative late-night arts events that are suitable for all ages.
Anyone with information planning an event for Culture Night is responsible for securing their own venue or space for their event. The Arts Office provide support through funding, marketing and promotion. This involves uploading event information onto the official Culture Night Website, creation of a printed brochure and posters to be dispatched around the county and promotion in local press, radio and social media. The closing date for applications is 4pm on May 24.
Funding is limited and it may not be possible to offer funding to all applicants and it may also not be possible to offer the full amount requested to any individual applicant. However, inclusion in the programme will be open to all applicants.
Over the next couple of months the National Culture Night team will host a series of webinars and Information sessions for Culture Night coordinators, participating venues and event organisers.
Culture Night will be taking place on September 20 all around the country from 4pm until late!
Culture Night is a national moment, celebrating culture, creativity and the arts and seeks to actively promote the belief that this rich and varied culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people’s lives, today and every day.
All activities, workshops and events will be available to the public free of charge.
