The Evlana Ensemble will perform in Thomastown on June 8
The Evlana Ensemble will perform their work 'Perfect Offering' at Thomastown Concert Hall on June 8.
Delve into a compelling musical journey from Webern's arrangement of Schoenberg's Chamber Symphony composed in 1923 to Sean Doherty's newly commissioned work, "The Song of Iron." Also featuring Jessie Montgomery's lively "Strum", Jonathan Nangle's Granular Dusk and Cassandra Miller's poignant "Perfect Offering" which takes its title from Leonard Cohen in a concert spanning over a century of artistic expression.
The Dublin-based group Evlana Ensemble was founded in 2015 by composer Siobhán Cleary and places contemporary music at the heart of its programming and provides an opportunity for Ireland’s most accomplished performers and composers to produce and perform their work.
Join Evlana Ensemble on a compelling musical journey as they embark on a national tour in June, which includes a show in Kilkenny at the Thomastown Concert Hall, 8pm, Saturday, June 8 (as part of the Music in Kilkenny Series).
Supported by an Arts Council of Ireland Touring and Dissemination of Work Award, Evlana will be performing a programme of works by Schoenberg (arr. Webern), Cassandra Miller, Jessie Montgomery, Cathy Purcell and the world premiere of a new commission by Seán Doherty .
