Croatian violinist Bojan Cičiċ
While Music in Kilkenny’s final concert of the season, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in December in Kilkenny Castle is completely sold out, there are still some tickets available for a Coffee Concert taking place on Sunday, September 7 at 11.30 am in Thomastown Concert Hall.
Two international award-winning Baroque music specialists, the Croatian violinist Bojan Cičiċ and the Irish harpsichordist and organist Malcolm Proud will perform a programme of Baroque music by the female French composer to the court of Louis VIV. Elizabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, the English Elizabethan composer William Byrd, and the great Johann Sebastian Bach.
Bojan has a busy international career performing as a director and soloist with some of the world’s leading early music ensembles including the Academy of Ancient Music, Orchestra of the 18th-Century and the Kioi Hall Chamber Orchestra in Tokyo to name but a few. His recordings have won numerous awards. He is Professor of Baroque Violin at the Royal College of Music in London.

Organist of St Canice’s Cathedral in Kilkenny for 35 years (now retired) Malcolm Proud has had a long and distinguished career performing with renowned ensembles such as the English Baroque Soloists, the Akademie fûr Alte Musik Berlin and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. 
He has given both solo and chamber music concerts at some of the world’s leading recital halls including in Vienna, Tokyo, New York, Boston, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Riga and Brussels. He is a co-founder, with Swiss violinist Maya Homburger, of Camerata Kilkenny and is principal keyboard player of the Irish Baroque Orchestra with whom he recently performed at the BBC Proms in London. He has made over 40 CD recordings.
