Kilkenny greatest hurler DJ Carey star beaten in golf match

It's not often that the great DJ Carey is beaten playing golf. The legendary hurler and current Under 21 Kilkenny hurling manager suffered a rare defeat at Kilkenny Golf Club on Tuesday - and his playing partner is considered the best young golfer in Europe! It was all in a good cause.

Tony Murphy won the opportunity to play with with Jimmy Bolger, Kilkenny Golf Club Professional against  Mark Power, +5 golfer and DJ having won the Chernobyl Kilkenny Outreach Group's raffle. He also won four green fees for Glasson, Dundrum and Rathsallagh. The fourball was a tightly contested match and was won on the 18th by Tony and Jimmy.  Tony said it was a very enjoyable occasion and the golf was great with 11 birdies between him and Jimmy.
