Bagenalstown to host free screening of a new film as part of their Grass Roots Festival

Muine Bheag Arts Festival

Muine Bheag Arts, supported by the Arts Council of Ireland, Creative Ireland and Carlow County Council, present a screening of new film work by Holly Pickering as part of the Grass Roots programme.

Holly Pickering is an artist from Waterford based in Dublin.

The film was made in response to a period of time spent in Muine Bheag by Holly.

It explores themes of navigation and prediction.

The screening will operate on a drop-in basis from 12-5pm on September 2 in the Muine Bheag Community Centre.

Holly was recently Film Artist in Residence at Garter Lane Arts Centre (2022) and received the Ormond Art Studios Graduate Award (2022) culminating in her solo exhibition Amanuensis (2022) at Ormond Studios.

This is the Grass Roots Arts Festival's third year in business.

It will take place in Bagenalstown from August 11 to September 10 with a wide range of events taking place throughout.
